The Gladiator's Day of Grace is the perfect Christmas gift for readers of inspirational or historical fiction!
About The Gladiator's Day of Grace
Maximus Vitruvius Messalla has learned about the unpredictability of
life the hard way. Raised in aristocratic prominence and wealth,
one
moment Maximus is a decorated centurion in the Roman military, quickly
rising in the ranks. The next, he is betrayed, charged with treason, and
forced to be a gladiator in the Roman arena to earn his freedom.
Throughout the course of these events, Maximus comes to question all he has been taught to believe.
Lifted
by his love for a freed slave, Maximus follows her to Capernaum where
he learns of the gospel of Jesus Christ. After witnessing the healing of
a fellow centurion’s servant, Maximus’s hunger for truth grows and his
questions about the rabbi increase. He knows that if anyone can tell him
more about the Messiah, the woman he loves can. On the shore of
Galilee, she shares her testimony of the Messiah, and for Maximus, just
being in her presence gives him a glimpse of
heaven.
Over the
course of a single day, he receives answers to questions that have
haunted him for years. But when certain events come to light that reopen
old wounds, he wonders if he will ever truly have peace.
The
Gladiator’s Day of Grace is the story of love, forgiveness, redemption,
and one man’s journey to discover the saving grace that is available to
all of us.

What Readers Are Saying!
“A powerful testimony of faith.
It is 33 A.D. Maximus Vitruvius
Messalla, a hardened warrior shunned by his wealthy family, has been sentenced
to a life of bloodshed as a Gladiator. After proving his merit within the walls
of gore, he is liberated and returns a different man. A changed man. A
calloused man.
Andromeda Ayana is a freed slave
with unshakeable faith in the rabbi Jesus Christ—a messiah of love and peace
who has brought her to a faith like none other. In her, a deep light of peace
and tranquility radiates—traits in which Maximus longs to experience, for peace
and tranquility have never known him.
I have a difficult time with short
stories because I don’t want the story to end. I fell in love with both
characters, with the depths of each as they came to life so powerfully within
the pages. Having a great love for Christ myself, I find pleasure in learning
of other’s conversion stories, for they are always filled with tears of joy. In
Gladiator’s Day of Grace, Jewel Adams has beautifully captured a love story
based on tenderness, mercy, and forgiveness. She truly is an inspired writer!” ~ Elizabeth
Mueller, author.
“Wow!
Hallelujah! Praise God for His indescribable gift! Thank you so much, Jewel,
for this beautiful story. A story which tells the old, old story.” ~thelphred,
a reader.

“It is a selfish statement, but I am
glad you are here,” he said, placing his other hand over hers, enclosing it.
Dropping her eyes, she gave a slight
shake of her head, and then she freed her hand and stood. “I should go, my
lord.”
Maximus stood as well. “Maximus. Call
me Maximus.”
Andromeda looked away. “It isn’t
proper.”
“I say that it is.” He moved closer
and touched her face.
“Please, my lord,” she said, closing
her eyes, releasing a shaky breath.
“Don’t be afraid of me, Andromeda,”
he said huskily. “You never need to be afraid of me.”
She looked into his eyes then, and he
wanted to fall at her feet and worship her. Instead, he kissed her hand and let
her go.
